# Governance

As the **Augury Finance ($OMEN) token** is a governance token, holding the **$OMEN** gives you the ability to vote on proposals within the Augury Finance ecosystem.  **$OMEN** can only be acquired through interactions on the Augury Finance platform. The primary mechanism for earning **$OMEN** is through the use of the Augury Pools and Staking features.
