๐Ÿ’ตMoving Fiat to Polygon (MATIC)

Fiat money is a currency established as money, often by government regulation. Examples include: US Dollars, EUR, CAD, AUD, GBP, CHF, and JPY

To get started using the Polygon network (and Augury Finance), you'll first need to acquire MATIC tokens. These MATIC tokens can be purchased at a variety of websites in exchange for FIAT currencies. Some of our favorites include (sorted alphabetically):

  1. Binance

  2. Coinbase

  3. Huobi

  4. Kucoin

MATIC can be purchased on the above websites. Once you have purchased MATIC you will need to set up a MATIC compatible wallet. For this, we recommend Metamask. To set up your Metamask account to use MATIC, please see this tutorial, offered by the Matic Network:

Warning: Make sure that you never share the seed phrase that you created above. You need to store that phrase in a safe spot. Scammers will often ask for your seed phrase to "help you". Report and block anyone that asks your seed phrase. Augury Finance will never ask for your seed phrase and anyone who is asking for the phrase is trying to steal your money. If you have any concerns, use our support channels for help. Do not send private messages to anyone, but rather, post your question in support for everyone to see. There are no dumb questions. If you lose your seed phrase your funds will be lost forever.

Once you have created your Metamask account (using the instructions and link above), you'll need to configure the MATIC network (Matic-Mainnet). To do this, please see this tutorial:

Once these steps are complete, you will have a wallet that is usable on Polygon (MATIC). After this, you'll want to send your MATIC tokens from any of the companies above (Binance, Coinbase, Kucoin, Huobi) to your MATIC wallet address in Metamask. The tutorial below shows how to send money on Metamask. Please note that even though the tutorial calls out the ETH (Ethereum) Network, you will follow the same steps on the Polygon (MATIC) Network.

Always use a small test amount first to make sure that you have the correct settings and that the money will transfer. Sending money to the wrong address may result in a permanent loss of funds.
